Notice of Proposed Amendment to the Rules of Practice and Procedure

of the Department of Environmental Management

The County of Hawai‘i Department of Environmental Management, pursuant to Section 91-3 of Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, and DEM Rule No. 3-2, hereby provides notice of its intent to amend the following:

 

  • Rule No. 5-3, adding a definition of an “unsecured load.”
  • Rule No. 9-17, relating to vehicles and trailers that may be allowed at certain solid waste transfer stations.
  • Rule No. 12-3, adding a residential credit for commercial haulers of residential waste.

 

A copy of the proposed rule amendments will be sent to any interested person. Requests shall be made by phone to (808) 961-8099, by email to cohdem@hawaiicounty.gov, or by facsimile to (808) 961-8086. Written comments will also be accepted at cohdem@hawaiicounty.gov until January 26, 2022.

 

The proposed rule is available here or by visiting the DEM office in Hilo. The Director will consider written and oral submissions regarding the proposed rule amendment. Public hearings on this proposed amendment have been scheduled as follows:
